Best Darryl Strawberry Rookie Cards

Considering his accomplishments in baseball but also his controversial behavior, paying $25 for the 1983 Topps Darryl Strawberry rookie card #108T, graded PSA 8 is a great deal.  Even with his unusual behavior, Strawberry was a popular player, which is evident in being voted to the All-Star game eight consecutive years from 1984 to 1991.  Out of high school, he was a first round draft pick in 1980 by the New York Mets, quickly proving his talent after debuting professionally in 1983 when he had 26 homeruns, 7 triples, and 74 runs batted in, making him the NL Rookie of the Year.  He would make the All-Star team several times starting in 1984, again hitting 26 homeruns.  His prime years were from 1984 to 1990, finishing first or second each year in the division.  While he played hard, he also fought hard.  When he went to the LA Dodgers in 1991, he ended the season with 280 lifetime homeruns at age 29.  Released by the Dodgers in 1994, he had a short stint with the San Francisco Giants but was suspended when his cocaine use was discovered.  He went back to the New York Yankees, helping his team win the 1996 and 1998 World Series.  Strawberry accomplished many things such as power hitting and being just one of five Major League players to hit two, pinch hit grand slams in the same season.  Here is a list of some of the best Darryl Strawberry rookie cards to buy.
