Top 3 Matt Garza Rookie Cards

Although still a young pitcher, a Matt Garza rookie card makes a nice purchase.  An autographed 2005 Bowman Chrome Matt Garza Rookie Card sells around $100 whereas a 2005 Topps Update Gold Rookie Card without an autograph is less than $10.

Value of Matt Garza Rookie Cards

The price of a Matt Garza rookie card is determined by a few factors. The condition of the card or cards is vital to its value. The better the condition the more the Matt Garza rookie card is worth.  Scarcity also a determining factor when figuring out how much a Matt Garza rookie card is worth. Like condition, scarcity can make a big difference when it comes to pricing.

Matt Garza Bio- Garza was a first round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins in 2005 and then in 2006, he was ranked as the seventh best prospect by Baseball America.

While playing in the minors, he played exceptionally well, earning him the USA Today Minor League Player of the Year award.  On August 11 of 2008, he debuted and earned his first professional win against the Baltimore Orioles and had a record career high with 11 strikeouts in six innings.  Garza was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and with his exceptional performance, was voted MVP for the AL Championship Series.

Unfortunately, 2009 was a bad year but in July of 2010, he threw a no-hitter while playing the Detroit Tigers, making him the first pitcher during that season to accomplish the feat but the first in the Devil Ray’s history.

He then went to the Chicago Cubs in 2011 with anticipation high for him performing well thanks to his two and four-seam, 94 MPH fastball, along with a breaking ball, unique changeup, and tight slider.  While a Matt Garza rookie card may be affordable now through eBay and other online sites, if his performance continues to impress, the value will increase.
