by admin on April 14, 2011

A Prince Fielder rookie card is a nice choice for someone starting a baseball card collection, with the 2006 Ultimate Collection SP #242 Prince Fielder Rookie Card selling around $10.  Fielder comes by baseball talent naturally as the son of Cecil Fielder, former Detroit Tiger first baseman.

Value of Prince Fielder Rookie Cards

The price of a Prince Fielder rookie card is determined by a few factors. The condition of the card or cards is vital to its value. The better the condition the more the Prince Fielder rookie card is worth.  Scarcity also a determining factor when figuring out how much a Prince Fielder rookie card is worth. Like condition, scarcity can make a big difference when it comes to pricing.

Prince Fielder Bio-
Interestingly, he and his father became the only father/son combination in MLB history to reach 50 homeruns within a single season.  Like his father, Fielder has done great things in baseball since his 2005 draft into the minors.  That same year, he played in a Major game with the Milwaukee Brewers but was then sent back to the minors.

Two days later, Fielder got his first career hit, followed by driving in his first MLB run in his second at-bat.  In 2006, he became starting first baseman for the Brewers when Overbay was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays.  While his initial performance was poor, by his twelfth at bat he made the game-winning hit.  In 2007, he played first base in the All-Star Game, was featured in the August issue of ESPN The Magazine, and broke the team’s record for homeruns within a single season with 46.

He also ranked first for NL homeruns, and received an MVP Award, Silver Slugger Award, Player’s Choice NL Outstanding Player Award, and Hank Aaron Award, all in 2007.  Then in 2009, he was named NL Player of the Week, hit his first career grand slam, and won the 2009 State Farm Homerun Derby.  Today, Fielder is still the Brewer’s first baseman and continues to set records and receive awards so buying a Prince Fielder rookie card on eBay is a great investment since the card has excellent potential for increasing in value.
