Jack Lambert Bio-Although born as “John Harold”, he was known as Jack, an NFL linebacker who spent 11 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Although retired, because of his accomplishments Lambert is still considered one of the best players in the Steeler’s history.  In 1974, Lambert became a second round draft pick out of college although some scouts, as well as professional coaches felt his small stature would be a detriment.  However, he quickly proved everyone wrong, displaying not only incredible strength and speed but also being an amazing blocker and having unmatched tenacity.  In fact, Lambert earned the respect of the Steeler’s coaches, being named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Some of his other achievements include being chosen to play nine consecutive Pro Bowls, being named the “Toughest Football Player of All Time” by Fox Sports Net, playing on the Steeler’s 75th Anniversary team, and in 1990, being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  While his number 58 jersey is not officially retired, reports are that upon retirement, Lambert advised the equipment manager of the Pittsburg Steelers his number was not to be used again.  Jack Lambert football cards are actually easy to find, especially through internet sites such as eBay.
