Like condition, scarcity can make a big difference when it comes to pricing.

Best and Most Valuable Jim Otto Rookie Card- 1961 Fleer #197 Jim Otto.  This is also his most expensive rookie card.

Jim Otto Bio-Otto began his football career early in high school, followed by playing with the University of Miami.  Although he excelled in the game, because of his small stature no NFL teams had interest, leading Otto to sign with the AFL’s Oakland Raiders.  Although he was first given the number 50, the team let him change to 00.  While this number was typically not given out, it was a play on his name “aught-oh”.  To prove that he was serious about football, Otto worked out diligently, taking him to 250 pounds.  During his 15 seasons with the Raiders, he was never sidelined once for injuries and accomplished many great things.

Prior to retirement, he played in an AFL Championship game, All-Pro three times, All AFL 10 times, played in three Pro Bowls, and was on the AFL All-Star team 10 times.  His induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame cemented his name as being one of greatest AFL players and he was named as one of the 100 Greatest Football Players by The Sporting News.  Unfortunately, because of his dedication to the game, Otto endured 40 surgeries, primarily on the knees to include several joint replacements and today, deals with various back and neck problems, as well as arthritis.  To find quality Jim Otto football cards, ant auction site tends to be a top source.
