Joe DiMaggio Bio-

An autographed 1995 Signature Joe DiMaggio Rookie Card, #JD2/#300 and graded PSA/DNA Slabbed can be purchased for about $275 and a rare autographed 1993 Pinnacle Card #4, for about $400.  Accomplishments during his professional baseball career are truly unrivaled.

Nicknamed “The Yankee Clipper” and “Joltin Joe”, DiMaggio was one of the all-time best players with the New York Yankees, along with his two brothers also playing in MLB.  For instance, DiMaggio was a three-time Most Valuable Player recipient, he played in 13 All-Star games, one for each season of his professional career, and helped the Yankees to ten pennant and nine World Championship wins.

In 1947, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox, being the first MLB player to be paid more than $100,000.  However, DiMaggio finally retired from the game in 1951, believing he could no longer offer anything to the game.  By the time DiMaggio retired from MLB, his 361 career homeruns put him in fifth place and his .579 slugging percentage was the sixth highest.  Of all accomplishments, his 56-game hitting streak was his best, a record still in place today.

Although DiMaggio set numerous records and received multiple awards while in the MLB, several specific things will go down in history to include being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955, having his number 5 jersey retired by the NY Yankees and Florida Marlins, eloping with Marilyn Monroe in 1954, and meeting former President Regan.  For the older and rarer Joe DiMaggio baseball cards, most people work with dealers although some cards can be found online through sites such as eBay.
