The price of a Ron Guidry  rookie card is determined by a few factors. The condition of the card or cards is vital to its value. Ron Guidry  Bio-
Guidry had a brief pitching career that went through the 1995 and 1996 seasons but it was not until 1977 when he was finally added to the starting rotation as a relief pitcher with the New York Yankees, a team he would spend his 14-year career with.  During that time, Guidry played a key role in many of the team’s accomplishments to include winning the 1977 and 1978 World Series.

One of his memorable occasions in the Majors came in 1978 when he struck out 18 batters, a Yankee’s record.  In addition, he was the recipient of the AL Cy Young Award and finished in the number two position for the league’s MVP honor.  Nicknamed “Gator”, Guidry also won the Gold Glove Award five times in a row, received the Sporting News’ AL Pitcher and MLB Player of the Year Award, and Sporting News’ Left-handed Pitcher but after experiencing chronic arm problems, thereby decreasing performance on the mound, he retired in 1989.

For his solid work with the team, his number 49 was retired in 2003 and a plaque, which now hangs in Yankee Stadium, was made that calls him “A dominating pitcher and respected leader” and “A True Yankee”.  Any baseball collection would be enhanced with Ron Guidry baseball cards, which are sold in sports memorabilia stores, as well as online sites to include eBay.
