Ted Williams Bio-
Williams began his career in 1939, playing with the Red Sox until 1942. He then served four years active duty in the Marine Corps, after which time he returned to the Red Sox in 1946, until 1960 when he retired. Although One of his greatest moments in MLB was having the highest career batting average of any other player with 500 or more homeruns. He was also a 19-time All-Star, two-time recipient of the Triple Crown, AL Most Valuable Player twice, led the league in batting six times, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
Fondly called the “Splendid Splinter”, “The Kid”, “The Thumper”, and “TedAlthondy Ballgame” by his teammates, Williams was a great athlete but also man who lived his life with integrity, earning him respect of the team. From his vantage point, he stated that his most cherished event occurred in 1941 when the All-Star Game was won with a two out, three-run homerun while at the bottom of the ninth inning at Fenway Park.
