Tony Perez Bio- Called “Big Doggie”, “Doggie”, and “Big Dog” more than Tony, he was an important player with the Cincinnati Reds starting in 1964.  However, Perez was traded in 1976 to the Montreal Expos, a team he played for until 1979.  At that time, he moved to the Boston Red Sox, staying with the team just two seasons before going to the Philadelphia Phillies until his retirement.  At the time of retirement, Perez had compiled 379 homeruns, 1,652 runs batted in, 1,272 runs scored, and a .279 batting average.

The list of accomplishments as a MLB player is quite impressive to include being 1964 Pacific Coast League MVP, named All-Time, All-Star Argument Starter by Esquire Magazine in 1976, and upon retiring, being elected for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame and being inducted into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame, both in 2000.
