Willie McCovey Bio-
When it comes to power hitters in Major League Baseball, McCovey was without doubt one of the best and most dominating.  Nicknamed “Big Mac”, “Mac”, and “Stretch”, McCovey made his professional debut in 1959 with the San Francisco Giants in which he went four-for-four, hit two triples, and two singles, and later that year, won the NL Rookie of the Year award.  McCovey then went on to help his team to the 1962 World Series although the Yankees won.

He was traded to the San Diego Padres in 1974 although at the end of the 1976 season, the Oakland Athletics purchased his contract but playing only 11 games after which time, he returned to the San Francisco Giants.  Some of his other achievements while in the MLB include becoming the NL MVP, being named 1977 Comeback Player of the Year at age 39, and hitting his 521st and final homerun in professional baseball while playing at Olympic Stadium.  For 22 years, this player set several records and improved the game of baseball.  For this reason, collectors and fans enjoy buying McCovey baseball cards, which are sold in memorabilia stores, as well as online through eBay and other sites.
